61 Questions of Fun…

I almost NEVER do these kinda things, but being the Master Procrastinator that I am (screw that…I should have a Doctorate!), I decided to give it a whirl when the bulletin slid my way on MySpace.

Special ups to oldschool pal CJ for the afternoon inspiration – keepin’ the Manly Mantra alive and well, matey! :)

Unfinished Business has turned into one of my favourites of the series (right up there with 33 and Downloaded). I’m glad you’ve finally heard the Galactica Gospel, Brooke.

  2. admin says:

Seeing Exodus online finally cinched it for me, matey…I always LIKED the new BSG, but I still had this strange nostalgic attachment to the original. But I’ve seen the light! (at least a red one that moves back and forth in haunting rhythm :) ).

And yeah…I DID cry at the end of Unfinished Business. Lots of whiners on the AICN boards were flaming it for being all about ‘the past’, but the Lee and Kara stuff rocked me.

  3. Elise says:

I love hearing stuff about you, Brookie. You always make it interesting and funnyful.

  4. Saggio says:

Exodus Pt. II was a really awesome episode. Adama is a fucking tactical GOD – but for originality, I have to give ‘best action scene/sequence’ to the Resurrection Ship. I mean, seeing the battle from Apollo’s perspective…and his floats, dying in space?! Awesome!

Have you seen all of the seasons, by the way? Also, who is your favourite character? Your favourite episode? Favourite story arc? Come on, Brooke…give in to your inner fanboy.

  5. admin says:

Exodus 2 did indeed ROCK the block…I fucking cheered at my computer screen. And though I telegraphed the Pegasus save, it was a great throwback to the original :)

Yup – the Resurrection Ship attack and Apollo’s scene within (especially his slow drowning in his mind) were incredibly effective. In fact, I think it was that particular episode that convinced me it was possible to shoot emotionally charged HD for long-form drama.

I’ve only missed an episode or two from Season 2 – otherwise, I’m up to date.

I have a soft spot for any ep that David Kaye was in (as the newsman/reporter on the elections, etc). Fucking LOVED the interrogation scene with Callum Keith Rennie (a Vancouver original, baby!). Sharon’s rape by the Pegasus droogs (hell, the entire Pegasus story with the twin assassination plots) was intense.

    The Adama cliffhanger…

All the times that Baltar sneaks his way towards redemption…and then continues to fall. And all because of Six…stunning, haunting, mouth-watering SIX!

For me, it’s less about the individual episodes, and more about the character arcs overall – my favourite eps are largely due to the emotional impact provided through genuine INVESTMENT with the characters and their situations. That’s why Tigh’s become so cool. That’s why Six and Baltar continue to intrigue (especially that torture scene – whoa). That’s why Unfinished Business ranks so high. That’s why Adama and Rosalyn are so interesting.

Believe it or not, I’ve actually considered throwing my hat back in the acting ring just to get a shot at working on the series before it gets cancelled. Most of my working friends have been on the show, and the boxing ep seriously tweaked me. Just think…I moved out to Van because of Twin Peaks…did a tiny part on X-Files…and might go full circle with BSG.

    Inner fanboy, indeed! :D

  6. Nick says:

Exodus was awesome. I’m all about that Battle of Algiers shit.

  7. The Eggplant says:

Man. Am I the only one not watching BSG?

  8. Rexfelum says:

    Nope, Eggy.

I’d have to have a TV, or a willingness to pretend the internet (and an LCD) can substitute, and/or time.

    Doesn’t mean I ain’t interested.

  9. Optimistic says:

Because of my girlfriend, we started watching BSG last year. Took awhile to get caught up, but man was it worth it. Exodus Part II just proves that Adama has the largest pair on that show ;) Unfinished Business blew my mind with the intense build up.
I kind of miss getting ‘caught up’ on episodes, because it was easier to just throw another one on, now I have to wait for each Friday.

  10. Zreekee says:

    Thanks B,

I needed some giggles today. :)

  11. Saggio says:

You should go for it, Brooke. New sidekick for Tom Zarek? I could see it.

  12. admin says:

“You should go for it, Brooke. New sidekick for Tom Zarek? I could see it.”

LOL – actually, that could totally work. Some ‘Libertarian muscle’ :D

And hey, I could handle being one of the currently unknown clones too?

    But the dream?

Why, Kara’s NEW lover, of course! Or maybe Baltar’s replacement as Six’s favourite…

  13. Julie Z says:

I learned new things about you. YAY! Of course, now that you’ve filled it out, I had a strange compulsion to fill it out. So, 60 questions later, it’s done. MySpace bulletin-style. Word.
