Hey folks, tobias here, plugging stuff as usual… but at least I’m plugging FREE stuff this time… read on!
First up, my trio Stillness3 is finally ready to release our inaugural album, and we are having a release concert in Berlin (of course) on Dec 7th. I realize most of you aren’t anywhere near Berlin, but still… details on the website. Might record it and try to do a webcast of some sort. We’ll see how it goes.
Second, I have been a busy bee over here – and not only with parenting. I have been implementing what I think is a really simple but powerful idea, which I call Virusonic. What it means to you is that you can get this new CD, in its entirety and at decent resolution, no DRM, for free – with one tiny catch: you have to tell your friends about it. Details are on the website: stillness3.virusonic.com – but the basic idea is that you can hear samples, sign up to get an initial free track, and then grab your unique Referral Link and start spreading it around to friends, post it on your Facebook, whatever; everyone that joins the site from your referral link earns you another free track. Ten referrals gets you the album! (less, actually, as referrals of your referrals count too!)
ALSO… if (for shame!) any of you don’t have the BS soundtrack set, I’m putting that on the system as well – right now only the Selections album is there but the full set will be up shortly – it’s at brokensaints.virusonic.com – go! now! 🙂
Finally, I’m also releasing the solo piano catalog this way as well – including the Broken Saints Concert and continuum:one: tobiastinker.virusonic.com. Again, only selections online right now but I will have the full-length albums uploaded soon, so start spreading the word and before you know it you’ll be FILLING YOUR WHOLE IPOD with my music. Muahahahaha!
Note: you have to register separately for each site. Also, I’m open to comments / suggestions / responses of any kind as the system is in Beta as it were. I have lots of ideas for future development but I’d love to hear what people think of the basic concept.
Note 2: there is another solo piano release in the pipeline, and more electronic/acoustic stuff on the way as well. Busy busy busy!
Do it up, couz’!!! I can now officially start spreading the word and shepherd talented peeps to your digital domain 😀
hi guys,
hey Tobias, forgive my ignorance, but would the last choral track on the last chapter of disc 3 (think it’s an arrangement of a certain mr Gabriel, though I could be wrong), where Shandala poignantly says she wants to go home but of course she never sees it again.
Machen sie vielleicht Konzerten irgendwann in Berlin oder gehen Sie bald auf der Buehne? Ich wuerde gern mithoeren denn ich liebe Ihre Musik.
Frieden und Respect
I meant to ask was that track available on the B.S. cds? But got lost in introspective drift.
Actually, that was a licensed piece from composer John Taverner, if I’m not mistaken – Song for Athene. So no…not on the CDs…but yes, available out there in a couple of forms 🙂
Brooke is probably right on that, he’s the one with the encyclopedic memory for such things. Although to be precise it’s actually John Tavener, rather than John Taverner – who was also a significant English composer but about 450 years earlier.
Regarding live performances in Berlin, yes indeedy, we are onstage with the Stillness3 CD release on December 7 at Kulturhaus Mitte, Auguststr 21, 9pm. Details on the website:

thanks for the nice words (auf Deutsche meinte ich)

tough day in the office, hassle with the dear little ones, bus strike; traffic mayhem, house looking like handgrenades has detonated in every room, have been listening to Zuleika…..the world is beautiful, serious chillax. Wonderful. You are mining the rich seem. Love it!
thanks niall, that’s a nice thing to read just before bed after too much time widging about with details on the site and other computer annoyances, a good reminder of why I’m bothering. Very glad we were able to soothe the jangled nerves! -t
Tobias!
How do I give you money for your music? I have monies, and I want you to have them.
Paypal, on the Virusonic site! But wait a couple more days, as I am putting up ‘premium content’ hi-res versions shortly. Man, everything takes so much time.
which titles do you not have? I will be putting the full-length piano CDs on as well. As soon as I have more than 10 minutes at once to get my s&#t together.
Well, I just scoped out your discography on subtle arts, and I’m only missing three of your discs, excluding your solo piano works excerpts album (which I think is just a compilation of what you have on your other albums). I need the Trio Tikva disc, the Quacktones disc, and also your new fancy stillness3 CD.
Also, I’m really interested in actually having the physical media. Is that possible?
Email me (saggio[at symbol]gmail[with the dots! the dots!!]com) and we’ll work out the details.
I’m very excited and so glad that you are finally releasing your new project. I can’t wait to scope it.
physical media… available from CD Baby or Cafe Press. I think CP only for Quacktones / Trio Tikva – which are the roughest jewels in the bunch to be sure, but fun.
Gotta catch ’em all, mr. T!
Amen to that!!!
Leider kann ich nicht in Berlin sein am 7. Dezember, any chance of that live webcast getting off the ground? We crave artistic sustenance upon the dry earth of our everyday lives, deliver us some transcendence!
Her’s hoping.
I am not sure that I have ever seen Saggio behave in this manner before. Still, I second the positive attitude.

I’m afraid I don’t give the live webcast good odds at this point – super stressed trying to make sure there are bums in seats at the concert, plus a deadline for more animated fun with Brooke and company (watch this space!) and in the middle of it all a gala show out of town (Hamburg) – still have to pay bills somehow… if there were someone else to organize it, maybe, but I think it is beyond my limited powers to manifest at this point. Sorry for the tease… I will perhaps try to video and post something after the fact, more than that I cannot promise. -t
