This summer I am taking a weight lifting class at a local community college. Two days a go I was working my legs pretty hard because my upper body was sore. I didn't have class yesterday or today but all of a sudden a muscle in my leg started to hurt alot and I can't walk properly (and it's impossible for me to run now). I think I pulled it when I was working out but I didn't feel anything until today. Do any of you guys have any advice for me? Should I soak it in warm water or something? _________________ What dosen't kill me can only make me stronger. |

| Hmm....I'm not actually sure but I think when I did something similar I spent about 90 minutes in the bath and it seemed to feel better. It then recovered fully a few days after. I also recommend that you go in the bath or something if your upper-body is sore, it seems to help alot. |

Ahh, I've had physical conditioning classes before. The first piece of advice is: if you don't work out frequently enough, and you start out stressing your muscles too much- you'll be sore and achy and you might (if not always) pull something. The best thing to do is yes, soak in a tub with epsom salts, or something soothing. Use icyhot or bengay if you need to, and don't completely keep off the leg- just don't over use it lol. And I'd go easy with the weight lifting stuff. Alternate what muscles you work on, and start out with the lightest weights, then work up.. I'm sure you've been told this by your "coach" or professor. _________________ Run mad as often as you choose, but do not faint!

| If it's just sore, you should rest it a bit. But make sure to take your time and stretch it frequently. That should help eliminate the soreness. |

Mooshie is right. During wrestling seasons, epsom salts and bengay were always my best friends. And clown is right, too. Stretching should be the FIRST and LAST thing you do. It'll cut way down on the soreness. Goodluck. _________________
