I think it's because it doesn't happen as often here in the United States as it does elsewhere, and this freaks people out because of an "everybody but me" mentality. _________________ "I dream of a different world..." |

"World's goin' to hell - read enough of what's here to see that straight. If they ain't tellin' us what to want or who to vote for, it's just more bad news to keep us down."
And the biggest thing I hate is that they had to go on about he set a new record. Give it a matter of months and some copy cat is going to try and break it.
In cases like this, there really is no rhyme or reason. There really is no one to blame. Scapegoating is only going to help point out what peoples agendas are. People who are pro-gun will point out what you guys said about conceal and carry permits. People who are anti-gun are going to go on about how it shouldn't be so easy to get guns in the first place. Boils down to Red vs. Blue, except I don't have an X-Box.
There is really no way to effectively prevent this sort of thing. Some people may show the warning signs of this sort of behavior, but may never do anything at all. And some people don't show any signs at all before going on some kill-happy rampage. Any action we take, and legislation that is pushed through in the name of "A Safer America" is nothing but smoke and mirrors. It is simply Washington putting on a good face, to show that they are doing something. Over-reacting to stuff like this is how Afghanistan and Iraq happened. It is how Hiroshima happened. _________________ The familiar forum frequenter formerly known as bigjact |

Bah. Someone at my college tried to send a similar threat to one of the other campuses. Probably some jackass trying to worm his way out of a test or something, because it closed down for the day. There were police officers hanging around my campus because it's a larger target. Still.
No one but the person are at fault for these shootings. People get picked on all the time. Someone even tried reaching out to Cho Seung-Hui, and he killed that kid as well. He was nothing more than a weak, pathetic jackass.
To top that off, despite how "disturbing" people say his writing was, he couldn't do screenplays worth crap. |

Dr. Phil jumped the gun before he did. Nowhere does it mention that Cho played video games. There was even an article on MSNBC about Thompson and asking if video games were really to blame.

Yeah, I'm getting sick of the first thing these jackass media people do when something like this happens is "O NOEZ VIDEO GAEMZ R LIEK SOOO EVUL!!1!!oneoneone" I've not heard from one source that Cho was a gamer. Guess they'll have to go blame something else on this. Like television and movies. For shame.
The only ones that are to blame are the stupid idiots who went postal in the first place. But no, nobody likes taking responsibility for their own actions anymore. |

I am Asian, and I am quite crazy. Though I have met several normal Asians.
Whenever I feel like I should be normal, I just look at the normal people and remember how boring it would be to be like them,

Humans are crazy by nature. We're the only race stupid enough to blow each other to smithereens for the dumbest of reasons. |
