This is probably another topic that's been done to death but what the heck. Delete it if it's boring. What's everyone's favourite THING in BS? It could be a message, a piece of music, a moment, a joke, a reaction, anything. So?

I have two favourite things. One is very simple when Oran's getting butchered by Stabby McShank there and there's the expression on Gabe's face and then it cuts to Oran and the gun and he just goes "I believe" and shoots him in the face. *shrug* So what if it's violent--I just loved it. Best one-liner/vengeance moment I've ever seen or believe I shall ever see.

The other is the piece of music when Raimi is telling Shan to give all the shitty emotions and stuff to him (loved that voice acting as well but my FAVOURITE thing was the music). It was one of the saddest and most beautiful things I've ever experienced. It's like, it's more than sound, more than a song. It's like you're hearing emotion--like it's just floating through the air from the TV to you, and you have to cry because it's so far beyond anything at least MY petty soul has experienced before.

At least that's how I feel, expressed very poorly, but there they are. My two favourite things. Yours?

Shandala's vision while she is catatonic in the motel because it shows you, in one go, all the underlying ideas and thoughts into the project; The amalgamation of Saints and their trials.

Then, and greater-greatest, I should say- is the broadcast. With Song for Athene playing in the background and all the build-up to it, it happens. I swear I get the fucken chills whenever I see it, it's so damned beautiful.

Something to behold without question. It seems that people have already hashed this out because no one else wants to post their favourite thing. Perhaps I can trump and close my own thread by suggesting that the best "single" thing about BS is no one moment nor piece of music or acting nor any of the myriad goodies to be found and enjoyed on viewing #131, but that such details exist at all. What I mean is, there are so many tiny things to enjoy as favourites--ALL the music, sound effects, quotations, expressions, artwork, animations, the references, the hidden meanings, the parodies of modern thought. Some of the series reminded me of Stephen Colbert, portraying the way a lot of people think so we can get a more objective look at it and realize that a lot of it is "whack." I'm mostly thinking here of Raimi and his comments to Oran. It's as though even he, when actually speaking TO the object of his ignorance, realizes how...well, ignorant he sounds.

Anyway, I'm ranting. I'd still love to hear what everyone's favourite little tidbit is; we all know how great the whole work is. Let's pick something tiny.

I loved the holographic tunnel (is it chapter 23 or 24? I can't remember).

The rant on symbols is brilliant, and I keep meaning to make a transcript of it.

Well, I was going to comment that since this sorta started out as "your two favorite things," it's actually an original thread. I feel alot better picking through this stuff when I've got a backup choice.

So here's three . . .

Chapter 18's glorious and unique fight.

Chapter 20's beautiful spiritual message and revelation.

Chapter 22's terror.

Energy, love, fear. 'S a lot of what Broken Saints did well, I'd say.

Rexfelum, it was supposed to be one thing but that's truly an unfair task (we'll not mention it was set by myself). There's just too much to love.

Eggy, what about it? At what point did you realize "this f-ing rocks!"? Was it a line or music or a message? Get specific.

I read a review recently that said it's long-form philosophical dialogue was a turn-off.

Pardon me, but isn't that one of it's biggest selling points????

*shrugs*

As to fav part: three words.

The whole thing.

Three more words: Extras and all.
