|
|
Hi guys!
I've started working on my long dreamt-of Broken Saints Fandub. I'll be using and updating this thread as I work on it, to let you know how things go, as ask for help when necessary XD
My first question is this; Does anyone own, or could refer me to a good swf>>>video converter? I've got all of the original swf. files of the series on my hard drive, with no way to convert them into a format I can work with in video editing programs.
Any help is appreciated! _________________

The question is: what the hell is a fan dub? _________________ Philosophy is the art of preparing for death. |

A fan-created dub of the series, using amateur voice actors and fans of the series as the dubbing staff. _________________

I have no idea. All I know is that I can view .swf files in things like QuickTime, but I don't know if QuickTime does any sort of file conversion or what.
Yeah, I'm unhelpful.

Yeah, I've done a little looking around, and actual converters are usually programs you have to pay for. I had a decent free program a while back, but I deleted it, as it was a trial version, and I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. _________________

This sounds like fun but I do not have a mic nor a proper comp to handle such project... reminds me of the musical... I have some of the songs printed out before my old comp got fried. _________________ Honor thy error as a hidden intention |

I'm actually gonna be handling things a bit differently this time. For the last 2 years I've been involved with an internet-based comedy troupe, that records parody radio plays of video games and such. As a result of my involvement, I've become a part of the Voice Acting Alliance, which is a group of amateur voice actors and producers, using the internet as a means to network.
Basically, while this will remain a "Fan Project", I'm handling it in a more professional manner. I'm hoping to have the whole series dubbed within a year or so, depending on how quickly my producer and I are able to get the technical aspects worked out (converting the old swf's to wmv's, doing the actual dubbing upon line submission, etc.)
If any of you guys DO have an interest in fandub work, I'd suggest joining the VAA, it's been a good experience for me thus far. _________________

I wish you good luck. I've watched stuff like this. Have you ever heard of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series? It's funny as hell. |

The Bink and Smacker video tools might be able to help you with this. Can't make any promises though.
w00t.
Have you got anyone for Raimi yet? I've been doing more acting as of late and I'd like to do more voice-over work. My american accent is passable and getting better. _________________ Formerly "Broken-Angel" and still a proud member of C.O.R.A.
