Some among you may recall that Caroljoy and I are engaged. We are now getting married.
This requires planning, and part of that planning revolves around the guests. It would be interesting to have a Broken Saints table at the wedding. Therefore, I'm posting here (and also e-mailing privately) to try to get the word out to anybody of relevance, and to get feedback on our decision of a wedding date.
Top priority on the "invitation" front is anybody whom I've actually met. You know who you are. The location is in the Northeastern vicinity of the United States. (We don't want to be completely specific in public like this, as we are trying to keep usernames separate from real selves.) We are considering Saturdays and Sundays in June, 2012. One option is Saturday, June 9, for a somewhat late ceremony starting at 7:30 pm. We would prefer Sunday, June 17, which allows for a ceremony earlier, at 5:30 pm. However, June 17 is Father's Day this upcoming year.
Do those of you (who have met me) have an interest in attending a wedding in that general vicinity in June? Do you have thoughts on those dates?
Please let us know. We will also, as stated, be e-mailing other applicable persons (like, oh, let's see, Brooke). We hope to have a fun time with as many people as we can stuff into the available space, and that includes wacky people like you.

I should mention that we are considering playing a small selection of Broken Saints music at the wedding, along with other unorthodox things.
Also, writing a possible guest list that includes forum names because they are more recognizable than real life names is amusing. _________________ The dotted line

This is... beyond words, cool. I know we've never met outside of the forums before, but if you guys wouldn't mind (and if I can make it), I would absolutely love to go! I'm not sure where I'll be by June 2012, but it's enough of an advance notice to try and plan ahead. If you'd like, shoot me a PM or an email, holy carp!
Also, congratulations, you two! I'm so happy for you guys I am grinning like a fool. |

If we get enough people, it could in fact be the Last Great Broken Saints Meet-Up. Well, inasmuch as there will be Broken Saints people, and they will Meet Up, and it's been a long time since the Last. (And it could be Great?)
Okay, mostly it would be a wedding. My goodness, a lot of planning has to go into these things. Decisions on the venue and date are (cue dramatic music) just the beginning.
Don't even ask about the detail that Caroljoy and I don't currently live in the same state, yet we're still planning this thing.

| Ohh man. Broken Saints Meet-Up would be pretty ace. I don't think I have ever been to the previous ones (that would have required money). |

Congrats again! I would love to make it out. As it stands though, there are many plans for this coming summer, not all are hashed out yet. _________________ "They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old.

Are you sure you want to know? Are you sure you want to make the descent into madness? We're talking about wedding planning, here. You'd keep more of your sanity if you tried to explain My Little Pony to the Elder Gods.

Approximately a week later, I have a moment to reply. I am, however, uncertain on quite what would be interesting to say.
We have a venue for the ceremony and for the rehearsal dinner before it. We have a start on organizations/persons who will be involved with invitation cards, catering, officiating, dance lessons, hotel rooms for guests, and possibly music. We have something approximating a guest list. We think we know what we're going to do with the cats while we're away. We think we might go over to Canada to get poutine for the honeymoon.

Yes it is. So we know we're going to head back to Canada to get more sometime, but we're still iffy on whether this is the right occasion.
And we've had some poutine in the United States a couple of times out of surprise (at its very presence) and/or desperation. But it has never been good. Fritz is the master.

Hello, Evil Sponge here. Something horrible (and of my own doing) happened to my account, so I'm posting under this name. Meanwhile, something wonderful has happened in our little community.
So...who's going to this and do you want to share a hotel room? |

We've been thinking about hotel thingies. We've also been thinking about transportation thingies, i.e., how people will get around while near the event location. Ideally, silly friends of similar interests will get to hang out. Also, ideally, those who arrive with their own vehicle will be able to help drive a bunch of others around.
We are still vague on the specifics. And, just for the record, we still would like it if no one used specific locations on this public forum. We have e-mailed you folks previously, and we could give you everyone else's active e-mail address if you desired.

I was wondering about hotels and whatnot. I wouldn't mind sharing one if anyone would be so kind to.
Also seriously hoping that I can even go now... being currently unemployed and all. Ugh. Just being extremely frugal with my money.
