Quote:
I don't mind
You’re someone that ain't mine
But someone that I'll get
And you don't know how
Hard I've tried
To convince myself that I
Can easily forget

But you left this feeling
Here inside me
One that never fails to find me...

On a rainy Monday
A feeling inside me
Like the days of summer

On a rainy Monday
I feel it inside me
In the hopes of one day

I won't lie
I still can't say that I
Admit we went too far
And you won't see me change my mind
But I really wish that I
Could forget the way you are

But you left this feeling here inside me
The battle in my mind still fights me

I can see that you're not beside me
But I still feel you shine inside of me

Quote:
I took my love and took it down
I climbed a mountain, I turned around
And I saw my reflection in a snow covered hill
'til a landslide brought it down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Well, I've been afraid of changing cause I've
Built my life around you
Time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older, too
I'm getting older, too

I took my love and took it down
I climbed a mountain, I turned around
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hill
The landslide brought it down
The landslide brought it down

[Wanted:]
Single f, under 33, must enjoy the sun, must enjoy the sea
[Sought by single m:] Mrs.Destiny, send photo to address, is it you and me?

[Reply to single m:]
My name is Caroline cell phone number here, call if you have the time
28 and bored, grieving over loss, sorry to be heavy but heavy is the cost, heavy is the cost

[Reply to Caroline:]
Thanks so much for response, these things can be scary
Not always what you want
How about a drink? The St. Jude club at noon?
I'll phone you first I guess
I hope I see you soon!

I never got your name, I assume you're 33
Your voice it sounded kind
I hope that you like me
When you see my face, I hope that you don't laugh
I'm not a film-star beauty
I sent a photograph
I hope that you don't laugh...

[Note to single m:]
Why did you not show up?
I waited for an hour and finally gave up
I thought once that I saw you, I thought that you saw me
I guess we'll never meet now
It wasn't meant to be
I was sure that you saw me, but it wasn't meant to be

[Wanted:]
single f, under 33, must enjoy the sun, must enjoy the sea
Sought by single m:
nothing too heavy, send photo to address
is it you?
or me?

Thank You Too! by My Morning Jacket wrote:

Put on my robot face. Hide my emotions way far away from me.

Oh! You really saw my naked heart.
You really brought out the naked part.
I don't know what you were doing-
I know I just want to thank you for thinking of me.

I want to take you. For all that you are.
Although our worlds seem far apart
I want to see you- thru all that you do.
I want to thank you.

It was strange and it was soothing, and you could even say amusing-
The way it came to me.
You'd devised a simple plan, that would change the fate of man,
you'd thought of everything

Oh! you really saw my naked heart.
You really brought out the naked part.
I don't know what you were doing-
I know I just want to thank you for thinking of me

Quote:
I dip my hands into this darkness
This is the ink of all of our lifetimes
Here in this world of utter silence
Let the stones speak to me
Tattooed here across my skin, "I Will Live"
Like a rose that grows from the wreckage
Blood red, beautiful
How the storms all around me are now breathless

Is this the end of the raging road
Through the tangled mind?
Is this the end of starlit skies?
Are we walking blind?

Let me set out through this morning
Open arms to greet the empty ages
Reborn, see how I'm circling
I'm a sailor, eternal

Is this the end of the wasted way?
Is this the death of time?
Is this the end of blue psychic seas?
Are we sailing blind?

Oh, look down on me
Watch over me as I walk across this world
Oh, hold me in hidden hands
Let us go

Oh, look down on me
Watch over me as I walk acorss this world
Teach me how to take my first footsteps...
to the end...

Well you know I look like a woman but I
Cut like a buffalo
Stand up like a tower, tall
But I fall
Just like a domino

You can hit me if you want to
Do whatever makes you happy
But don't take it easy on me
'Cause I don't know how to take it

You're a prick with a pin woman

Wake me up when it's broke
But only if it's broken
You know I treat you like a joke bu you
Can't tell when I'm joking

You cut a record on my throat
But the record's not broken

Is that you choking?
Is that you choking?
Is that you choking?
Or are you just joking?

You know I look like a woman but I
Cut it like a buffalo
Wake me up when it's broke
Just like a woman
You cut a record on my throat then you
Break me wide open

You're a prick with a pin woman
Push it into my skin girl
I'm a prick when I sin and I
Know I can't win

You know I look like a woman and I
Cut like a buffalo

"Broken" - Bruce Dickenson

I will not be pushed
I will not be stamped defiled
I will not be crushed
I am not your only child

I am not a freak
Object of your own desire
I am not ashamed
I am not your alibi

I stand alone but I can see
You won't bring me down
Through all this pain and misery
I'm not broken

Crushed
Crushed

I am not a pawn
This is not a game of chess
I am not a pin
stuck into your shiny vest

I am not a slave
I will do what I do best
Walking out on you
Take my life, leave the rest

I stand alone but I can see
You won't bring me down
Through all this pain and misery
I'm not broken

All the hatred, can't you see
You won't bring me down
All the light has set me free
I'm not broken

I stand alone but I can see
You won't bring me down
Through all this pain and misery
I'm not broken

All the hatred, can't you see
You won't bring me down
All the light has set me free
I'm not broken
I'm not broken

Quote:
Now, this is the story all about how
Code Red got flipped turned upside down.
And we'd like to take a minute, just sit right there.
We'll tell you how he ended up in the sand with no air.
In west Washington state, born and raised,
In the sandbox is where he spent most of his days.
Chillin' out, diggin', playin' all cool,
And watchin' some Naruto outside of the school.
When he saw a guy named Gaara up to somethin' good,
He did a Sand Coffin, and Code Red understood.
He had to role-play Naruto, but his Mom got scared,
She said, "You're not emulatin' that show, you won't have any air!"
So he whistled for his friends, and when they came near,
Codey said he had a plan and would proceed without fear.
If anything, his friends could say this plan wasn't sound,
But they thought, "Naw, forget it. Let's put him in the ground!"
Code Red dove into the sand around 7 or 8,
And he yelled to his friends, "Hmmmmph Aaahhhhhh Hllpp."
Since his friends couldn't hear him, he got IRL b&.
Now he can sit up in heaven as the Master of S&.

i'm so going to hell

Every Time You Stifle A Sneeze
By: Lemon Demon
Quote:
Every time you stifle a sneeze, the force of the sneeze cannot simply disappear from existence. It must manifest elsewhere, often causing a small creature to explode or a chef’s hat to fly off into the air.

La toque blanche. The chef’s hat. Why is it shaped like a mushroom cloud? Because they both sure can cook. And why is a mushroom cloud shaped like a mushroom? Not many people know this, but out in the forest, right where every mushroom grows, there used to be a tiny Japanese city, so tiny that even David the Gnome could commit accidental genocide just by taking a poop without looking.

Ironically, Gnome Poop is highly sought after in Japan, because of its mystical properties and because it tastes good on sushi, for people who can’t handle wasabi. Here in America, Gnome Poop’s mystique is somewhat overshadowed by that of Unicorn Seed! the hip new soda pop that all the kids are guzzling on the street corners. Its popularity has been hugely fostered by product placement in popular films. For instance, in the film “Muscular Hooker 2”, Will Smith’s character takes a dramatically-framed swig of Unicorn Seed! and then suddenly grows a CGI erection which extends into infinity, and then Will Smith’s mind explodes, and the movie ends.

For that scene alone, Roger Ebert gives the film 3 and a half stars. Not many people know this, but movie critics have a finite amount of stars they can award in their lifetime. They are often kept in a vault, heavily secured to prevent a senile Scrooge McDuck from wandering in, mistaking the stars for gold coins, and swimming in them. This is for Scrooge’s own protection, as the stars have sharp edges and would lacerate his body into a bloody feathered pulp.

If this were to happen, his will states that the entire McDuck fortune will go to his grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and that his nephew Donald will get zilch, because nobody understands what the Christ he is saying anyway so who cares. As for Scrooge McDuck’s body, it will be jerked and eaten, as per Scottish tradition.

Indeed, cannibalism of the dead is a cherished custom in Scotland. When a Scottish boy’s coming of age is celebrated (a ceremony known as the Scot Mitzvah) he is forced to consume his own great-grandfather, bones and all, in just 24 hours, or else the local Shaman will hit him on the head with a magical stick that stops him from ever becoming an adult.

Now, you might think that eternal childhood wouldn’t be such a bad thing, Never-Never-Land and all that jazz. But no! Once your parents are dead, there’s nothing to stop you from eating nothing but sweets, as children are wont to do. And when your baby teeth have rotted away, there will be no adult teeth to take their place. Toothless, stupid, and unkissed by the spirits of puberty, you will be banished from Scotland to the only place in this world where an awkward man-child such as yourself can ever hope to be accepted— Ireland.

You will live as a leprechaun. You will don a false beard and a green bowler and stand on the streets jabbering about a nonexistent pot of gold. When darkness falls, you will sleep in an alley on a bed of night soil, clutching a potato, which will be your surrogate mother. If you are found by leprechaun poachers, your only hope for escape is to mesmerize them with a sprightly leprechaun jig, and then stab their eyes out with your leprechaun stiletto. Then you must run away— to find another Irish hamlet, and the cycle will repeat forever until one of three things happens: 1. The poachers get too smart for you. 2. You starve to death. 3. The stifled sneeze of a distant someone causes you to explode and die.

Quote:
Daydream, I fell asleep amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, on a beautiful day.
Daydream, I dream of you amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, such a beautiful day.

I dream a dirty dream of ya baby
you're crawling on the bathroom floor,
you float around the room and you're naked,
then you're flying out the bedroom door,
I dream a dirty dream
I dream a dirty dream

Daydream, I fell asleep amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, on a beautiful day.
Daydream, I dream of you amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, such a beautiful day.

I dream a dirty dream of you baby
you're swingin from the chandalier
I'm climbing up the walls 'cos I want ya
but when I reach ya, you dissappear,
I dream a dirty dream
I dream a dirty dream

I daydream
I daydream
I daydream

Daydream, I fell asleep amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, on a beautiful day.
Daydream, I dream of you amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, such a beautiful day.

Daydream, I fell asleep amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, on a beautiful day.
Daydream, I dream of you amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, such a beautiful day.

Quote:
I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she was gonna meet her connection,
At her feet was her foot-loose man.

You can't always get what you want,
You can't always get what you want,
You can't always get what you want,
But if you try sometime,
You might find you get what you need!

And I went down to the demonstration to get my fair share of abuse,
Singing, We're gonna vent our frustration
If we don't we'll blow a fifty amp fuse (sing it to me)

You can't always get what you want,
You can't always get what you want,
You can't always get what you want,
But if you try sometimes,
Well you just might find you get what you need! (aw baby yeah, aw)

I went down to the Chelsea Drugstore, to get your prescription filled
I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy
And man, did he look pretty ill
We decided that we would have a soda,
My favorite flavor, cherry red
I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy,
And he said one word to me and that was dead
I said to him,

You can't always get what you want, (no)
You can't always get what you want (tell me baby)
You can't always get what you want (no)
But if you try sometimes,
You just might find you get what you need!

You get what you need! (yeah! aw baby aw yeah)

I saw her today at the reception
In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practised at the art of deception,
Well, I could tell by her blood-stained hands (sing it)

You can't always get what you want,
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want,
But if you try sometime,
You just might find, you just might find,
You get what you need! (aw yeah, aw baby)

You can't always get what you want, baby
You can't always get what you want,
You cant always get what you want,
But if you try sometime,
You just might find, you just might find,
You get what you need!

I will not let this thread die!
A local band did a cover of this song, I actually like their cover better, some words are different, same tune, but the title speaks to me better. Their version is called We're not like everybody else.
This is still a great song though

Quote:
I won't take all that they hand me down,
And make out a smile, though I wear a frown,
And I won't take it all lying down,
'Cause once I get started I go to town.

'Cause I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

And I don't want to ball about like everybody else,
And I don't want to live my life like everybody else,
And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else,
'Cause I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

But darling, you know that I love you true,
Do anything that you want me to,
Confess all my sins like you want me to,
There's one thing that I will say to you,
I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else
And I don't want to ball about like everybody else,
And I don't want to live my life like everybody else,
And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else,
'Cause I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

Like everybody else,
Like everybody else,
Like everybody else,
Like everybody else.

If you all want me to settle down,
Slow up and stop all my running 'round,
Do everything like you want me to,
There's one thing that I will say to you,
I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.
And I don't want to ball about like everybody else,
And I don't want to live my life like everybody else,
And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else,
'Cause I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

Like everybody else (like everybody else),
Like everybody else (like everybody else),
Like everybody else (like everybody else),
Like everybody else.

Quote:
I always flirt with death
I look ill, but I don't care about it
I can face your threats and
Stand up straight and tall and shout about it

I think I'm on another world with you, with you
I'm on another planet with you, with you

You get under my skin
I don't find it irritating
You always play to win but
I won't need rehabilitating

I think I'm on another world with you, with you
I'm on another planet with you, with you

Another girl, another planet
Another girl, another planet

Space travels in my blood
And there ain't nothing I can do about it
Long journeys wear me out but
I know I can't live without it

I think I'm on another world with you, with you
I'm on another planet with you, with you

Another girl is loving you now
Another planet, is holding you down
Another planet

Quote:
Only a moment ago we had nothing but time
Everything lasted forever and you were all mine
Only a dream I know
Thinking you’d never go
Tearing off pieces of myself
Just for the time it buys me

Fold my heart up small
Or break it into pieces
Find somewhere and keep it there
Take it when you go

There in the frame of your face in the cast of your eyes
I saw this coming but still I am caught by surprise
All of this time I knew
That I’d be losing you
That doesn’t mean that it’s okay
That doesn’t mean I’m ready

Fold my heart up small
Or break it into pieces
Find somewhere and keep it there
Take it when you go
When you go
When you go

Some things we always remember, some things we forget
No way to make it up now no room for regret
That’s no good for anyone
And so I come undone
Now I am less than what I was
Whatever’s left is yours now

So fold my heart up small
Or break it into pieces
Find somewhere and keep it there
Take it when you go

But on the Che Guevara highway filling up with gasoline
Fidel Castro's brother spies a rich lady who's crying
Over luxury's disappointment
So he walks over and he's trying
To sympathise with her but he thinks that he should warn her
That the Third World is just around the corner.

In the Soviet Union a scientist is blinded
By the resumption of nuclear testing and he is reminded
That Dr Robert Oppenheimer's optimism fell
At the first hurdle.

In the Cheese Pavilion and the only noise I hear
Is the sound of someone stacking chairs
And mopping up spilt beer
And someone asking questions and basking in the light
Of the fifteen fame-filled minutes of the fanzine writer.

Mixing pop and politics he asks me what the use is
I offer him embarrassment and my usual excuses
While looking down the corridor
Out to where the van is waiting
I'm looking for the Great Leap Forwards.

Jumble sales are organised and pamphlets have been posted
Even after closing time there's still parties to be hosted
You can be active with the activists
Or sleep in with the sleepers
While you're waiting for the Great Leap Forwards.

One leap forward, two leaps back
Will politics get me the sack?

Here comes the future and you can't run from it
If you've got a blacklist I want to be on it.

It's a mighty long way down rock 'n roll
From Top of the Pops to drawing the dole.

If no one seems to understand
Start your own revolution and cut out the middleman.

In a perfect world we'd all sing in tune
But this is reality so give me some room.

So join the struggle while you may
The Revolution is just a T-shirt away.
Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards

Ok, double post, but this is a freaking amazing song, Used at the Olympics, in Watchmen, in Hope for Haiti.

well, just read, and listen, and listen.
Listen with headphones and the lights off, like all good music should be listened to

Quote:
Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Maybe I've been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and its a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

There was a time you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you
And remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Maybe there's a god above
All I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
And it's not a cry you can hear at night
Not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah...

Sweet disposition
Never too soon
Oh reckless abandon,
Like no one's watching you

A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh
A kiss, a cry
Our rights, our wrongs
A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh
A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh

Just stay there
Cause I'll be comin' over
While our bloods still young
It's so young, it runs
Won't stop til it's over
Won't stop to you surrender

Songs of desperation
I played them for you

A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh
A kiss, a cry
our rights, our wrongs
A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh
A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh

Just stay there
Cause I'll be comin' over
While our bloods still young
It's so young, it runs
Won't stop til it's over
Won't stop to you surrender

A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh
A kiss, a cry
Our rights, our wrongs (won't stop til it's over)

A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh
A kiss, a cry
Our rights, our wrongs (won't stop til it's over)

A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh
A kiss, a cry
Our rights, our wrongs (won't stop til it's over)

A moment, a love
A dream, a laugh
A moment, a love
A moment, a love (won't stop to you surrender)
