Psy's roses smell really nice. She says all her neighbors' ones smell like crap.
And now I present... the Xan and his camera photo series!

About to leave good ol' Vancouver to head back to the boring ol' Netherlands... three weeks gone, so fast, yet it feels like I've been staying here for ages. So weird.
Anyhow, I'll get to uploading my photos sometime along the week. There should be about 250 of them (and I'll have to see how much space they'll take up before I upload Richard's stuff), but just to warn, probably not too many people type pictures - I figured Richard and Eggy had those bases covered. We'll see, we'll see. _________________ "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." - Albert Einstein |

As I said:
Batch 7: Evening. (Cue image of Shandala surfacing from beneath a layer of ice, like the Lady of the Lake, bearing above her a book of Edward Gorey writings.)
This was very strange. Next up: kites.

Guh, just updated them all and put them on P's (gracious) webspace. Now, all the links between albums will lead to other actual albums (instead of ending once you reach Homestead's arbitrary limit of three pages.) Also, there are very small changes in the text, such as to relate the story of the charades that Zero had to perform when Saggio showed up in the very first album.
Enjoy. And thanks, P.

Now for a very joyful day:
Batch 8: Kites. (Cue image of Oran and Raimi, dressed up like Fight Club characters, in an epic struggle against obstinate kite-making kits.)
It involved oodles of fun and emotional bonding. I hope some of it comes across in these photographs. Next up: fish and chips (not french fries, thank you).

Okay, well, I didn't organize any pictures into a kite set. But you can still see them among the rest of the Stanley Park photos that I have.
Those poofy clouds look like a smiley face. Those are some great kite pics. _________________ "I dream of a different world..." |

No, really?

Okay, I don't know if I'll be able to continue this one-batch-a-day schedule right now (though I only have three batches left). Yes, it's summertime. But I'm about to do a series of nearly-all-nighters in an attempt to be less disastrously failing in my work. Summer is nearly over and I still haven't done the work that I'm being paid to do, which is kinda unfortunate when you consider that I can't even start on that work until I'm done with this other pile of work. Oh, and sometime I need to remember to memorize five or six textbooks and read several dozen articles for my psychology specialty exam. Should jump right on that one.
Regardless, I love you all.

Okay, this one is small and mostly just shows us happy silly folks:
Batch 9: Chips. (Cue image of the family of strangers gathered together and about to ingest strange chemical substances.)
A good portion of the fun was in the food. And I don't have to share that, 'cause I couldn't photograph gustation. Next up: karaoke. That was definitely an interesting evening.

Currently in the process of uploading all of Richard's pictures and such. Will edit this post with the URL and all when it's done.
After that, I'll get to uploading the ones I've sorted out of my own batch and start to writing my own little report on the trip that spanned over three weeks for l'il old me. I'll link to it when I'm done writing bits, but it'll probably be longwinded and boring. And just for the record, I'm not uploading all of the photos I made, because for one, 99% aren't people pictures anyway, and two, Eggy's made better ones anyway. Neener.
Edit: Well, uploading plus dinner took a little longer than I thought, but here are all the various batches -
Batch 01: Arrival
Batch 02: Science World
Batch 03: Sushi
Batch 04: Bridge
Batch 05: Barbecue
Batch 06: Origami
Batch 07: Evening
Batch 08: Kites
Batch 09: Chips
Batch 10: Karaoke
Batch 11: Aquarium
If you'd rather see just the photos themselves, go here. Just the videos can be found here. And if you'd like to skip around from batch to batch without relying on the links on the pages or above, you can always just go to the main folder and click directly on the .html filenames.
The entire set is complete now. _________________ "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." - Albert Einstein

Waugh! Impressive. And I noticed your edits, Zephie-Zeph-Zephing. Very cute. (I smirk.) This makes me happy.
. . .
Pity how I already set up another batch. But hey, I'm almost done with all of them, so I'll just finish and then let you do your magic. (It is very nice, and I am grateful.)
. . .
The promised fun came to pass:
Batch 10: Karaoke. (Cue image of our heroes as riders against red and black backgrounds, whilst others are belting out for all they're worth.)
Yes. Next up: aquarium. That was the very last place I visited during my stay.

And now, at long last, the smallest of the batches (in total number of photographs) to bring it all to a close:
Batch 11: Aquarium. (Cue image of, well, something with otters. And maybe an eclipse, I guess.)
My theorizing in there basically speaks for itself, so I will leave you to read it if you like. Thank you.

Richard, I just wanted to thank you for all the time you spent writing up your trip and posting photos. ( Awww... right now I can see Gonzo rolling around on the picnic table in the backyard, enjoying the sun... cuuute!)
I've had so much fun revisiting the wild times our gang had together, and laughed maniacally at your commentary! Good stuff.
It's so nice to know our family extends all over the globe and I really hope that Vancouver can host another get-together sometime next year.
For all of you guys coming over for the bash on Aug 20th, I'm sorry I won't get to meet you! I'll be in Connecticut from the 18th to the 23rd, and maybe NYC or Boston, so if you happen to be staying past the 23rd, feel free to PM me if you feel like going for lunch or something.
Lotsa love to the Angels. Take pics for us!
Thanks again, Richard. It was a pleasure hangin' with you again. _________________ "To be truly radical is to make hope possible, rather than despair convincing."

P.S. It's so true what Eggy said. My roses smell nice.
Kind of lemony - like wild ones. Much better than roses from the florist, or anyone else's. And I don't even particularly care for roses much.
P.P.S. And thanks to Zephie, Eggy and Xan for your work too! Whoa, do we have a lot of pictures and movies now.... _________________ "To be truly radical is to make hope possible, rather than despair convincing."
