http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_saints

This has been up for a while, but we'd love for folks to expand on the listing's details, add more fan/press/review links, and go into as much depth as possible regarding the Broken Saints universe!

Post here or drop us a line as the edits happen - curious to see how group contributions and edits will take shape

heres my rather lame ass attempted at adding to it. Obviously it doesn't do it justice and feel free to majorly edit or delete it.

As Chapters load up several haikus (somewhat of a trademark of Brookes) are presented which give insight into the events and themes of that particular episode. At the beginning (and often the end) there are quotes from a huge number of sources that tie in with these themes and events. Also in several Episodes the viewer is treated to unrelated introductions which draw inspiration from various pop culture media such as The Matrix, Donnie Darko and The lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

Nah, I'll just tell you 'cause I'm a whiny brat.

Always the end. Both.

Porkchop Express wrote:

They are also thematically related, just like the quotes/haiku.

Never Narnia, unfortunately.

. . . But I dunno how I'd go about doing justice in an edit, so I'll just exercise my right to whine, complain, and DO NOTHING! (Stomping of feet.)

But nice shot.

Whoa. They deleted by Brooke Burgress article. It was awesome - I made it close to two years ago. It looked something like this:

right, sorted mistakes. Got The wizard of Oz mixed up with the lion the witch and the wardrobe, which is quite shocking really

Oran's is Nahid. No idea what Kami's is though.

I'll add more details on minor characters and the like.

No, we have little reason to believe that. You are thinking of "Abdullah Nahid," his fake name. Since everything else about that assumed identity was stolen from a dead person, we might as well assume that the last name came as well.

I still find it odd how the creators imbalanced the name-iness.

--Rexfelum

P.S.: I don't think that Oran was left to guard the bunker. We likewise have no information on that.

Double-really? If so, I would protest. If Oran stole "another's face," it would be dumb for him to use his-real-last-name-and-only-that. Depending on the method of theft, it could even be impossible.

If/when I get a chance to break from the three books I got in the works, I'll add to the archetypical aspects of the story. So, nobody touch that since that's essentially what I'm in the process of researching for two of my books.

Hmm, barring Brooke's strangeness . . .

I have little interest in going into more detail than is already available on that entry. Aside from, perhaps, mentioning the socio-political circumstances of the series (which are relevant to so many references that the new viewer would not get otherwise), what more needs to be said? The "definition" is good as it is. Anything more would just be a plot summary and spoilers list, which is basically meaningless to do.

Speaking of which . . .

Who the heck did the most recent update? If someone is going to add spoilers into the entry--like those entries for Goku and Hassan--shouldn't he or she put up one of those big, friendly "spoiler warning" signs?

Not only that . . . but shouldn't the entries be accurate?

The uninformed writer wrote:
Hassan
Hassan is a 25-year-old freedom fighter/terrorist. He is Oran's childhood friend and weapons supplier. Having grown up together and gone to the same school, mosque and Republican Guard training, they have strong bonds with one another. It is in an bunker when things go to pieces for the pair. His fate inspires Oran's rejuvenated faith.

"Weapons supplier"? "RejuvenatED faith"? This is bizarre and is clearly not up to the quality of the entries for the four main characters.

Well, that's the whole purpose of the collaborative information exchange that is Wikipedia. So get in there and change it!

I cleaned up a paragraph -

Quote:
Several haikus (somewhat of a trademark of Brookes) are presented as each episode loads, giving insight into the events and themes of that particular episode. The beginning and end of most episodes contain quotes from a huge number of sources, tying in with themes and events of the episode. Several chapters contain animated scenes which introduce and close the chapter, and allude too various pop culture media such as The Matrix, Donnie Darko and The Wizard of Oz.

But it still needs work. Maybe I'll do some more later.

Meh. I did it. I was tired and wanted to do something before I went to sleep. I was going to go back and make some changes, but I've been busy.

And yes, his faith is rejuvenated. "Not until I saw his dead face" and "Not until he joined the one million" come to mind? That pretty brings to mind that his faith is strengthened.

And Oran didn't pull that C4 outta his ass. Hassan brought to him. Hence, weapons supplier.
