That could be fun for people participating, but what about people who stumble in on the thing when it's half over, or five years passed? It proposes a risk that alot of people will be excluded. Left out of the equation. Outcast onto a distant seventh shore to be marooned for all eternity.

...I liked Neutral more....

Anyway, everytime I think if Seventh Shore, my mind wanders to the thought of Lomalagi or some other Fijian island.

This had better be as epic and ground-breaking, no...even more so, than Broken Saints.

Aren't YOU gonna be seriously disappointed when all it turns out to be is video footage of Brooke's summer vacation...

I don't feel that this is a fair statement. By setting a bar of expectations in comparison to a past work, you are ultimately setting yourself up for a let-down, regardless of how great this next project could/will be. The reason being that you will, at every turn, subconsciously or not, continue this comparison. As you obviously keep Broken Saints on a pedastal (that is... "epic... ground-breaking") you will, possibly even while enjoying the new project, remind yourself "This isn't Broken Saints." And in doing so, prevent it from being as great as you want it to be.

That isn't to say that we shouldn't demand something out of it. As the collective audience, it is our duty to demand, demand, demand. But as I said, comparing it to past work is a pre-determined pitfall for yourself. The same thing happened with Pynchon's new novel. The negative reviews I've seen have the same seeds sewn throughout... "Pynchon abandons the humor and wit involved with previous works such as 'Gravity's Rainbow'", etc.

I concur, but I do not want to stagnate Darius in his emotions... I think we all want a new experience to open our minds and hearts to but at the same time we are afraid of it pushing aside or taking a part of the place Broken Saints is in... but with that being said just open a door that isn't open yet... I think they will live together just fine.

Well, much appreciation from the one Saint here in Montebello, CA. Funny thing is, I actually drove all the way to CC for the first time last year just to meet with the BS team. Unfortunatly, I didn't plan things ahead and the lines were WAY to damn long to be bothered with, considering that the place was already filled to capacity.

Needless to say, I was in a suck-tastic mood for weeks afterward. I had actually finished watching the series for the third full time the night before and for nothing. Maybe I'll make it this year though, right?
