I’m not a fella to normally breach the private lives of those around me, but I figured it was high time that I posted a pic of my darling little puff of feline inspiration. Her name is Quinn – adopted last May from the West Vancouver SPCA Animal Shelter – and she’s been my unfailing companion ever since. Sadly, I’m off to the Flash in the Can Festival tomorrow for nearly a week, so my little friend will be in the capable hands of Kimmy V (Associate Producer on the DVD – scope out the butt shot in the Audio Featurette, fanboys!), and Chrystal Leigh (‘Butterscotch’ in Chapter 14, and the voice behind Oran’s musical revelation in Chapter 12 Act 2).
As the days go by, I can’t help but notice that Quinn has become the ideal ‘girlfriend replacement’. She’s soft-spoken. Playful. Affectionate. Low maintenance. Impeccably hygienic. And let’s not forget…potty-trained. The only real downside in this budding romance is her open distaste for my musical and cinematic selections – it seems that heavy signals from the sub spazz her out more than a face-first dip in my bathwater (don’t ask) – so we’re seeking an amicable solution, as couples’ counselling feels unnecessarily heavy-handed at this juncture. But if we DO break up? I get the fuzzy yellow banana. Deal with it.
